The beautiful bride, the radiant groom and open bar should be a recipe for wedding reception joy. Regrettably not!
You’re being tortured at a table with Big Bertha the human table food vacuum, Whining Wayne with the fire alarm voice and Blustery Bill’s quest to become emperor of the universe. What’s happened here?
Very simply, the wedding project manager, maybe that pricey Wedding Planner, botched stakeholder analysis. According to PMBOK and BABOK, stakeholders include everyone with a vested interest in the wedding reception project, whether they are actively participating, supplying resources or just being impacted as you are at that tormented reception table.
As I wrote in my new e-book “Even if you have been married eleven times before, each project to prepare for the wedding will be different.” Whether your project is for your business or personal life, you need to appreciate, address and plan for the rich and sometimes disagreeable pageantry of people, perceptions and personalities, in this case, at each reception table and generally for all the stakeholders in your project in your business as well as personal life.
Great stakeholder analysis is wise. Otherwise your project won’t be so great!
Do the right thing! Pay it forward. Together, let’s make a positive difference.
